PSA: I like Urban Decay Foundation; Ok I said it. I would like to preface this statement with my long time distain for the brand. I just have had a particular itch …not the good kind for brands that I can’t wear and when I say “I”, I refer to all the melanin infused beauties out there in the world. Like what can you do for me (head tilt)
Then after weeks of throwing high amounts of shade I heard those magical words! “Oil-Free” “Mattifying” “Full Coverage” Waterproof” Bishhhh whaaa?
I instantly got excited. Ok I see you, and because I love this industry so much I will give a brand at least one try. So I took my happy go lucky behind to Nordstrom counters and tested a few shades, first option, gosh too orange, then too warm, then BOOM there she was, looking as stunning as ever at the end of the line. I picked up the product in 12.0 (UD deepest shade…not thrilled but satisfied) and was determined to film using her live and in the flesh for my youtube channel (subscribe here)
I decided to rate the product (Scale: 1-10) based on the categories of importance for us beauty enthusiast below.

Over all I am 1000% here for this foundation, this summer in Washington has been just as shady as I have been to Urban Decay, then all of a sudden we hit 90+ degrees and haven’t looked back. I have worn this foundation all day starting at 6:30am and not taking it off until 8:30pm in the evening, that’s 14hrs and HONEY she has stayed PUT.
I have received endless compliments on the foundation; I don’t feel like a disco ball even in the warmest climate, with high humidity levels. I haven’t tested in a water-proofing situation (and I don’t intend too) BUT I would wear here to a pool party for sure! You know the kind where you sitting pretty and cute but not going headfirst…you know what I mean.
The finish is matte, but not the cakey kind of matte, it is intended to wear all year around so that's a plus in my books. The pigmentation is awesome, definitely a fixer upper in the hyper-pigmentation department, less product you will have to use to cover problem areas.
The consistency is a nice medium to a thicker formula such as Kat Von D Lock It or Becca Ultimate Coverage but definitely not as watery as say Maybeline Fit Me Foundation. I wear a NW47 in MAC studio fix so hopefully that helps in comparing what shade will work for you, it does oxidate a bit so it works more with your skin as it sets into place. I feel flawless and suggest using with a beauty blender rather then a brush.
Ok If I haven't convinced you enough...go get a sample from the counter, but have I ever steered you wrong. Until next time GEMS..SHINE BRIGHT!
